Integrated Solutions - Mectizan Donation Program

Objective

To honor and promotes the 15th anniversary and administration of the 250 millionth dose of the Mectizan® Vaccine Treatment for river blindness, the largest program of it's kind in history. The challenge was to commemorate the program by bringing together Merck CEOs, World Health Organization and World Bank senior executives with local government officials and 4,000 villagers of Tanzania.

 

Design

Create a multimedia event in proportion with the monumental milestone being celebrated in Tanzania East Africa, 400 miles into the bush. In partnership with Merck, fundamentals from building roads to bringing in power to feeding villagers would need to be addressed to stage this one-of-a-kind event.

 

Implementation

An unprecedented multimedia program was produced in this remote region of East Africa. Presentations by the CEO of Merck, the heads of state of Tanzania, and senior officials from the WHO, along with performances by regional troupes, were flawlessly orchestrated. Uniting such diverse corners of the world, this incomparable event was filmed and edited by Raskin Associates and AP, then distributed within hours via satelite to transnational media outlets.
